With Star Trek: Lower Decks' final mission now completed, every adventure they undertook in their five-season run can now be yours to own. Star Trek: Lower Decks - The Complete Series is coming to a limited-edition Blu-ray Steelbook this spring. For those who already own the earlier seasons, Star Trek: Lower Decks - The Final Season will also be available on Blu-ray. Both sets will be released on March 25, 2025.
The Complete Series will include all fifty episodes of Lower Decks, plus nearly five hours of special features, including audio commentaries, “Lower Decktionaries,” featurettes, and more. Its special features will be replicated from the ones found on the season sets from previous years. The limited-edition Steelbook of the set will also include an exclusive art card that includes the signatures of the show's four primary cast members. The Final Season will include the ten episodes of season five, plus five audio commentaries and nearly half an hour of special features.
What Is 'Star Trek: Lower Decks'?
The first-ever Star Trek comedy series, Lower Decks follows the USS Cerritos, a Starfleet ship assigned to less glamorous missions than the likes of the Enterprise or the Discovery. It focuses on the adventures of four lower-ranking ensigns on the ship: rebellious Beckett Mariner (Tawny Newsome), neurotic Brad Boimler (Jack Quaid), kind-hearted D'Vana Tendi (Noel Wells), and cheery Sam Rutherford (Eugene Cordero). In seasons four and five, the quartet was joined by sly Vulcan T'Lyn (Gabrielle Ruiz). The show chronicles their misadventures as they navigate space weirdness, career advancement, and the occasionally bizarre whims of the Cerritos' command crew, including non-nonsense Captain Carol Freeman (Dawnn Lewis), alpha jock First Officer Jack Ransom (Jerry O'Connell), ornery Doctor T'Ana (Gillian Vigman), and ferocious security officer Shaxs (Fred Tatasciore). Although the series spoofs many of Star Trek's more ridiculous tropes, it does so with a genuine affection for the franchise and its quirks.
Although Lower Decks has ended, series creator Mike McMahan and the rest of the cast and crew are ready, willing, and able to do more whenever called upon. In an interview with Collider's Samantha Coley, McMahan wants fans to let Paramount know they want more Lower Decks in a respectful manner: "The more people celebrate and want more in a way that's respectful and joyful, I can show that to people and say, 'Look at this fandom. Look at who's going to show up.' These are people who are going to get more eyes on this show."
