2001 was truly worthy of the name masterpiece or classic. But audiences have grown in understanding & the actual movie experience... grow jaded for a slow paced film that totally wowed most with its artful depictions of space now bore audiences that have seen dozens of "space" shows by now. Now it is is a tough watch. In it's time it was truly groundbreaking. Kubrick was a master.
