About Jake Hodges

Jake is a senior author at Collider and a first-class film graduate with a Masters degree in scriptwriting. As a professional scriptwriter and director, his documentary and fiction shorts have taken him across his home country of the United Kingdom to many film festivals, with his writing not limited to the screen but also translated to the stage.

An avid fan of TV and film, he is an expert on both Doctor Who and Phoebe Waller-Bridge?- with the latter the subject of his University dissertation - and when not glued to his laptop, he loves to spend time out for a drink with friends or watching his beloved Liverpool Football Club.?

Industry Experience

In over two years at Collider, Jake has now penned over 1000 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, and news teams. Jake was also lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to interview four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham

Author Details

Jake Hodges is a film and television journalist from Bath, England. His expertise range from British sitcoms to box office blockbusters, and have helped him pen over 1000 professional articles in just over two years.

Favorite Media

Doctor Who will always be Jake's most cherished franchise, but his love for 90s British sitcom The Royle Family also knows no bounds, with the very first two episodes of the series airing either side of his birth; it's safe to say he wasn't watching at the time.

When it comes to movies, Jake is always down at his local cinema in Bath, England, and will continue to champion Coralie Fargeat's The Substance right through until Oscars night. Jake's four favorite films are:

- Little Miss Sunshine (2006)
- Whiplash (2014)
- Parasite (2019)
- Synecdoche, New York (2008)
