SPOILERS: What the heck just happened in the ‘Silo’ Season 2 finale?!
OK, time to break down the Silo Season 2 finale: ???????? ?????! After the events of “Into the Fire,” there’s a lot to unpack — but the biggest revelation is about the Safeguard. We finally learn (well, most of) what it is, as Juliette returns and the rebels successfully seize control of Silo 18’s upper levels. This move directly challenges Bernard’s unwavering belief in his power and what that means for the silo. However, our heroine’s fate remains unclear after her tense confrontation with Bernard in the incinerator. Is she alive? And what about Bernard? Meanwhile, the finale’s final minutes take us back to pre-apocalypse Washington D.C., where Congressman Daniel (Ashley Zukerman) and The Post reporter Helen (Jessica Henwick) appear to be on a date. But soon, we realize there’s much more to it — the pair discusses a radiological attack by Iran or another foreign threat, which links them both to the creation of the silos and hints at a far-reaching conspiracy. With subtle references l
Who would you like to see grace ‘The Graham Norton Show’ red couch?
After Conan O’Brien, one of my favorite talk show hosts is Graham Norton! Not only is he a genius when it comes to asking the most entertaining and insightful questions, but he also has a natural, genuine chemistry with his guests that makes every episode both exciting and hilarious. Recently, Norton told This Morning that he’d love to have Brad Pitt on the show. After years of hoping for Julia Roberts, he finally got her on the couch for Season 31, alongside Tom Hanks, Timothée Chalamet, and the legendary Cher. If Norton does manage to land Pitt, who would you love to see him paired with? And if you’re not a fan of Pitt, who would you want to see on the beloved red couch instead? Moreover, if you are not a fan of Pitt, who would you like to see that has never before been on the show?
Are you still down for a 'Mindhunter' Season 3?
It's been almost 6 years since Netflix released?Season 2, and there are?still?people (including me) waiting for?Mindhunter?Season 3, despite the streamer, the actors, and even creator David Fincher all either being silent or actively asking us to move on. I know it's hoping against hope at this point — it's likely dead. But this was not only a great series, it was one where we would be perfectly fine catching up with these characters 7, 10, 15, or more years down the line. Most of the characters are clearly FBI lifers, and even if, say, Anna Torv doesn't return, as long as Jonathan Groff, ideally Holt McCallany, and David Fincher sign up, we're good to go. After all, even though there have been fewer and fewer active serial killers in the U.S. over time thanks to a lot of factors, they've never gone away. You still down?
Which Sitcom Had the Very Best Arc?
From?New Girl?to?Schitt's Creek, the last two decades have been very kind to sitcom fans. But I'm curious to know what everyone's all-time favorite arc has been in a sitcom. I personally really loved Alexis' narrative arc in?Schitt's Creek, particularly with her relationship with Ted, but I think my all-time favorite arc in a sitcom is Nick and Jess' feelings realization in?New Girl. No matter how many times I watch it, I still feel the same way about them and their relationship! So, what's your favorite arc??
What's the best long-running sitcom?
Iconic sitcoms like?Frasier,?Cheers, and?The Big Bang Theory entertained fans for more than ten seasons. There are some, like? It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, that are still going, despite the uneven quality of their seasons. What are some long-running sitcoms that stayed mostly consistently good until their final seasons? Which good ones could have been better if they ended early?
What's your favorite medical show?
Besides the police procedural, the medical drama is one of the most popular genres on TV?— and for good reason! They're great! I've recently been watching Doc and enjoying it, and I loved Private Practice and Royal Pains when they were on. What's your favorite medical show? Are you more ER? Grey's Anatomy? The Resident? New Amsterdam? Even Nurse Jackie? Comment below!
Gi-hun is going to become the Front Man in Squid Game Season 3
Season 2 ended on such a wild cliffhanger that I'm already dying for Season 3. My wildest theory is that Gi-hun is going to end up as the Front Man in the final season. I know — it's a bold prediction! But hear me out. Considering In-ho was a previous game victor, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Gi-hun felt he had to go back into the games to shut it down — maybe he realizes he needs to go on the other side of things to finally accomplish that goal, pretending to play along before switching up and killing the VIPs like a reverse In-ho. Or perhaps, because of all the trauma he's gone through and loss he's experienced, he gets jaded and embraces the darkness. It could be a fascinating arc for him. What do you think?
Will the dirtbags of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fit in at Abbott Elementary?
When I first heard of the upcoming crossover between Abbott Elementary and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I was caught between anticipation and curiosity. How exactly could the Gang be roaming the halls of a grade school? And how hilarious is this going to be? It's a little worrisome considering the tone of It's Always Sunny, which has taken the arrogance of the Seinfeld dynamic to depraved levels, and putting them in the thoughtful, yet contemporary, perspective of Philly's favorite classrooms. Will this be a tonal mismatch? How can we expect the Sunny cast to behave within the standards of network television? Will they be watered down to a degree that makes the characters whom we love to loathe unrecognizable? The first preview for the episode on ABC gave me some hope, as I got a real kick out of seeing Charlie glancing at the cameras. I'm just not sure this can work for a whole episode, let alone two... I hope I'm wrong.
Do You Think Avery Will Keep the Baby When 'Doctor Odyssey' Returns Next Year?
We are approximately three months away from?Doctor Odyssey?returning to our screens, and I am still thinking about the way that mid-season finale ended! I had a lot of issues with the way the series handled Avery throughout the entire first half of Season 1, and a big part of that was because her motives were always whatever served each episode's plot. The throuple was a lot of fun, but now she's pregnant with Tristan?or?Max's baby—and she has a decision to make. If she keeps the baby, she can still go to medical school and attain her goals, but raising a baby on the open seas isn't ideal. But it does sort of fall in line with the series' love for pulpy nonsense. So, what do you think? Will Avery keep the baby? Have an abortion? Give it up for adoption? Have a miscarriage? What do you think?Doctor Odyssey?is going to do with this plotline??
Who Do You Think The Mysterious Captain That Crashed on At Attin Is in 'Skeleton Crew'?
Last week, we learned that the notorious pirate named Captain?Tak Rennod was SM-33's previous captain, and the one responsible for finding At Attin and presumably crash-landing?the?On Cinder?on it. But?Star Wars: Skeleton Crew?didn't show us what Rennod looked like. In fact, the series made a point of hiding his true identity. Which has led to a lot of speculation about?who?Rennod is—and if we may have already met him. After landing on At Attin, did Rennod decide to stick around? Is he secretly Neel's dad? Or maybe part of the government? Who do you think Captain Rennod is? Or, do you think he's just a giant red herring??
What's your favorite show for dealing with a breakup? Mine's fairly bizarre TBH
Ok, let's just start this off by saying I'm not like everyone else. When my little baby heart is on pieces all over the floor thanks to love and/or desire, I'm not reaching for, say, the homey, worn-flannel comforts of?Gilmore Girls?or the familiar laughs of Friends?to comfort me. Nor, mind you, am I diving straight into the open wound by queuing up, I dunno,?Normal People. No, I'm gonna fall back on some bleak-ass stuff that gets me depressed about?other?things —?Chornobyl,?The Last of Us, etc. Nothing soothes a broken heart for me more than fictional, terrifying disaster.?As said, I'm not like everyone else. What about you, lonelyheart? Between rounds of Taylor Swift, what's the TV show you watch to helping you through a breakup?
What got you into fanfiction?
Don't lie?— you've read it. Whether you simply dabble or are on AO3 every night before bed, fanfiction is more popular and mainstream than ever. My gateways into this wonderful included Gilmore Girls, Law & Order: SVU,?Twilight, and Glee?(because I have the range). What show, movie, or fandom got you into reading and/or writing fic?
Squid Game 2 took one of the best parts from Netflix's The Challenge
Squid Game: The Challenge introduced the same cut-throat dynamics of the Netflix series but in a decidedly less lethal competition, and it was heartbreaking when they had to play the marble game for a key reason: it meant the mother/son team of Leanne and Trey would be split up and one would be sent home. Squid Game 2 utilizes that concept with new competitors to the game, Geum-ja and Yong-sik, a mother and son burdened by the latter's crippling debt. But while Trey and Leanne worked well in sync, the conflict between Yong-sik and his mother Geum-ja is one of the more fascinating parts on the new season. Yong-sik struggles with his participation in the games, effectively risking his mother's well-being (and his own) when he decides to continue the games. Even if it's just a coincidence, including this bit from The Challenge in Squid Game 2 has made for some entertaining drama among the players.
What's the best lightsaber from Star Wars television? You'll totally get my pick
Let's keep the movies out of this for a sec and focus on the many — ahem — "laser swords" through the live-action and animation shows, like?Clone Wars?to?Acolyte.?Which of all the many lightsabers in all of Star Wars' TV adaptations is the best??The red, disk-embedded sabers of the Inquistors have style, and I dug Omir's nasty little multipurpose tool. Ezra's gun/saber combo is iconic, of course, and let's not forget about Ventress' classy hand-me-downs from Dooku. There's also something very cool about Baylon Skoll's extra long-handled orange broadsword-style weapon. We could be at this for a while. However, my faves are Pong Krell's big, long, chawnky two-bladed numbers from?Clone Wars. Big — bigger than?Kelnacca's I imagine — and probably deadlier, and they work perfectly with his four-armed physique and even have a deep hum that matches. More than that, I associate them with television. They're, like, not movie lightsabers. Objections or other faves, anyone?
Ok, big one, what's your "Desert Island" TV show? I got mine right here!
Whether or not you've heard the BBC Radio4 show of the same name, you know the deal with "Desert Island Discs" — you're stuck on a deserted desert island with only a few bits of media to keep you company, possibly forever. Radio 4 is pretty generous, actually, allowing you multiple albums, books, movies, etc. to tide you over until rescue (or death). Let's get sharper — if you could only have?one?show to keep you company on a desert island, what would it be??Your options are unlimited, and no one will shame you for choosing?MILF Manor?because no one will be there. It's pretty rote, but I'm gonna go for?Game of Thrones. I'm even taking Season 8 with me! I will need some escapism and something to periodically yell at if I'm going to make it through. What about you?
There's one 'Simpsons' line that still makes me laugh every time I think of it and it's so, so dumb
On for 35 years now — lord we are all so old —?The Simpsons?is nothing if not a rolling conveyor belt of one weird, perfect line after another. Even if the lesser seasons, it's a true quotable marvel. But, among all the various, legendary moments of wit and stupidity in its over three-decade history, there's one from? The?Simpsons?gets me more than any other: "Hired goons?" I can't explain why, this moment (moments, actually) from Season 4's "Last Exit to Springfield" nails me every time I think of it. Frankly, I'm afraid to parse it out for fear whatever dumb, ingenious magic is contained therein might disapparate. But, still, there it is: "Hired goons?" You got a?Simpsons?line you can't shake? Share it. Hired goons.
Help me! I can't tell if 'Dune: Prophecy' earned a second season!
Well, that was a bumpy ride. Ups, downs, good performances, iffy scripting, interesting ideas, useless moments — the first season of 'Dune: Prophecy' had just enough interesting elements to make me appreciate it in part and enough drawbacks to make me question even finishing those 6 episodes. Like, it's interesting to start thinking about a Season 2, with its power to reset some of those plot lines, refresh the uneven tone, and turn this back-and-forth quality into something fun with some of its best actors. But did it?earn?that second season, or was all this setup for more just a hollow move for more big-ticket fantasy/sci-fi content — something HBO needs right now? Man, I can't tell. So on the fence here. Push me onto one side or another!
Yellowstone had to destroy Kevin Costner's legacy to fix Season 5, PROVE ME WRONG.
After Taylor Sheridan confirmed Kevin Costner would not be returning to the hit series 'Yellowstone,' everyone knew that the patriarch John Dutton was not long for this world. And though the show killed off Costner's character in the Season 5B premiere (in hilariously petty fashion, mind you) and changed the trajectory of the story, it served as a blessing in disguise for a show that was getting stale. What started as Cow Crime (or, as I describe it, 'The Sopranos' for doomsday preppers) became too reliant on political scheming and bureaucratic processes over the last few seasons. But John's death propelled Beth and Kayce into a violent pursuit of revenge, and the show became interesting once again. Kayce even threatened to murder a child! Yellowstone Season 5B rebalanced the ratio of criminality and cowboy romanticism that made the early seasons so good. And to do that, John Dutton and Kevin Costner just had to go. Do you think they could have done that had he stuck around?
2024 Launched a Fleet of New "Ships" Which Ship Was Your #1 of the Year?
This year was a?really?good year for fandom denizens who yearn for good ships in their favorite television series. At the top of the year,?X-Men '97?took a page from the oft-overlooked comic book romance between Rogue and Magneto, much to the surprise of fans of the ship who thought they would?never?see the relationship play out on screen. I was?personally?delighted to see the two come together in the series, and while things likely won't work out for them in the longtime, it was fun to see the first blush of their romance in flashbacks and then witness their smoldering dance and kiss. I love angst, so I won't be too upset if the road ahead is a bumpy one for them. As 2024 drew to a close, Disney+ (or rather, Hulu) delivered once again with another scrumptious age-gap romance in the form of their star-studded?adaptation of?Rivals. In it, Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella Maclean) proved to be the heart and soul of the series, and the will-they-won't they of their romance was?eve
It's Time to Give 'The Real World' It's Proper Respect (And Reboot)
When you watch documentaries on Reality TV, there is one show that is consistently left out when discussing the shows that brought the genre into the mainstream. I’m talking about, of course, MTV’s The Real World, a show that started out as a grand social experiment to see how seven strangers of different backgrounds live together under one roof, and, for a while, was one of the more popular shows on the network. In its early years, The Real World was an insightful look into how people from different ends of life’s spectrum can co-exist. While it dissolved into a show that thrived more on drama than insight toward its end, one can’t help but look at all the reality shows on today's TV landscape and not see The Real World's massive influence.?Seriously, would CBS's Big Brother even be a hit today if it wasn’t for The Real World? I think not, and it’s oftentimes ignored in the conversation of great reality shows when it really shouldn't. The truth of the matter is, this show deserves its
